I think not...

With the weather heating up and temps heading into the 90's this weekend, I'm figuring this pregnancy is going to begin to get quite uncomfortable. So...I researched a little bit about some ways to possibly induce labor on my own. Let's explore...

Option 1 - Nipple Stimulation
Apparently this method worked in a study sited in the ever popular "What to expect..." book. It is important to keep in mind, however, that these women stimulated their nipples for three hours or more DAILY. With 21 hours a week spent stimulating my nipples, how would I ever find time to update this blog?!?!? So, I've ruled out Option 1.

Option 2 - Walking a lot
Hmmm...let's see...at 37 weeks, I can barely make it up and down the stairs without feeling pure exhaustion. Are they serious?!?!? You expect me to walk more than I have to??? Unless it is to the freezer for more ice cream, you can count me out! So, I've ruled out Option 2.

Option 3 - Have sex
Are you kidding...that's what got me into this whole mess in the first place!!! Option 3 - OUT!

After thinking VERY BRIEFLY about each of these options, I've decided not to move ahead with "DIY Inducing methods." One final thought that pushed me over the edge...Andrew had a temper tantrum (crying, screaming, yelling, etc) for over an hour STRAIGHT yesterday. Thinking back to that hour, there's something to be said about the fact that you can't hear a baby's cries when it's in utero :)

Here's to the next 20 (give or take?!?!) days of pregnancy! Before I sign off, I thought I'd share a cute pic of Andrew & Derek from the baseball game.

Goodnight!

May 2008 recap

Since I'm just starting this blog, I figured I'd start off with a recap of some stories and photos from May.

From playdates to playgrounds, we've definitely had a FUN month. We're enjoying the warmer and sunnier weather and look forward to more of it as we move into the summer.

We had a super visit from my cousin Staci, who Andrew decided to nickname "Mickey." For some reason, Andrew couldn't remember Staci's name, so she suggested he give her a name he would be able to remember...M-I-C-K-E-Y it was.

We wrapped up the month with 2 BBQ's - one with the Connolly-Lisle family (John, Carrie, Anna & Baby Shay) and one with the Gebhards (John, Anne, Max and Uncle John & Aunt Phyllis).

ALL MONTH LONG, Andrew had been counting down the days for the pool to open! On opening day he was not disappointed and absolutely loved it...despite the cold water!

So, as we move into June, we await the arrival of Baby Banocy #2. Will it be a girl or a boy...and when will he or she make a grand entrance?

HEADLINE: "Banocy family joins the world of blogging"

OK...so it's taken us a little longer than most, but we are up and running with a family blog. This seems like the easiest and best way to keep everyone posted on the latest family news (like when Baby Banocy #2 arrives!) and photos. Hopefully we'll be good about keeping up with it :)
I have a bit to learn about how to do this, so hopefully it will get easier with each post.
